I love taking photos! I always have, well–at least for about the past 40 years, after I started out with my Pentax K1000 and learned to develop B&W photos in a darkroom. In all honesty, though, for the first ten years of my kids lives I pretty much stuck with automatic cameras and snapshots. Life was too busy. Once my daughter took up diving and gymnastics, I wanted to really learn to photograph her well, and began getting more and more interested in my own photography once again. I love that it is a craft that I can keep developing. There is always more to learn and more ways to improve. I love the study of photography.
The winter of 2015 broke my spirit. Seven feet of snow in two weeks, and over twelve feet in two months. For several years after that bleak winter, I intended to move south once my girls finished school, and I wanted to share all that I love about the extended New England area with them before leaving the area. However, in exploring the Northeast area, I came to appreciate it again and not surprisingly I decided to stay for awhile. This blog represents my bucket list of New England (plus some) day trips, diners and explorations. Next stop, moving to the tiniest of states, Rhode Island, and I look forward to all it has to offer!
